In winter, the Whitewater Ski hill is about 40 minute (+ scenic ferry ride) away. There is ample cross country skiing on the Kokanee Springs golf course and up Crawford Creek road as well as the spectacular Ainsworth Hot Springs just across the ferry(booking required). Beautiful view of the Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountain Range. We are located 5 minutes north of Kaslo on highway 31, in Shutty Bench on a 4 acre parcel. This newly renovated cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, plus a pull out couch with a double bed in the common area. There is a full kitchen and bathroom. Also available is a patio space with a barbecue (only in the summer) and 2 outdoor fire-pit areas that can be used all year.
