Grandpa's House

Walking distance to downtown, this is the perfect home for your mountain experience. The front section of this house was rolled down on logs by my grandfather from the East side of Leadville's historic mining district. From there it was built it into a two bedroom house which is now fully renovated for you to enjoy your mountain stay. Enjoy things nearby such as the Mineral Belt Trail, easy access to hiking and biking trials, and a short drive to Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes, and Ski Cooper.

Ellis Cabin, affectionately named after my grandfather, is a thoughtfully designed space created for a comfortable and immersive experience in nature. Nestled on two private acres bordering BLM land, the cabin offers stunning views of the Mosquito Range and is minutes from some of the best outdoor recreation in the Rockies. Inside, we’ve curated a warm and inviting atmosphere with designer touches, art books, a king-size Casper bed, and everything you need to feel at home in the mountains.

Carner’s Cabin - backcountry hut

A secluded cabin in a high alpine environment at 11,700 feet! Truly off-grid, without electricity, running water, NO WiFi. Beautifully furnished with fabulous furniture and wonderful beds to sleep 8. Just bring a sleeping bag & pillow case! WINTER ACCESS: By ski/skin, snowshoe or snowmobile only. 2 miles and 1000 foot gain to cabin. Takes approximately 3 hours on rolling and steep terrain. SUMMER ACCESS: By high-clearance, 4x4 vehicle and requires low gears (rental SUV not recommended).

Ski Cooper (downhill, XC ski & snowshoeing) 10 minutes from front door. Laid back locale compared to big resorts & more affordable too, esp. for families. Late summer & fall great for conquering four 14k ft peaks nearby: Elbert, Massive, Harvard & Yale. Dog friendly.

We are a block off downtown and just a short walk to all the great restaurants. The mountain views of White River National Forest off the deck in the back are AMAZING! 15 minutes to Ski Cooper and 25 minutes to Copper. Lots of toys and board games for the kids and a charcoal grill in the back for summer time grilling! 4K TV, 100 Mbps Internet with WiFi, tons of DVDs, XBox, Satellite TV and Apple TV in two rooms w/access to Netflix, HBO, Prime Video, Hulu, ESPN+ and other apps.
