Historic Stone House in Peaceful Chrissiesmeer

Stay in a house rich in history: Barclays erected the sandstone building in the early 1900’s. After many other uses it was renovated as a self-catering guesthouse accommodating six people in 3 en-suite bedrooms; 2 double bedrooms & a twin room. Beautiful wooden floors, fireplaces and stained-glass doors in the living room, lots of original paintings and fully equipped kitchen add to the warm ambience and atmosphere of the house. Experience old time magic in the beautiful lake district of SA.

Situated only 20km outside of Ermelo lies our little Peace of Paradise situated on a working farm and private property! Explore the Highveld while canoeing(own canoe) riding bike or Bass fishing( own rods) Enjoy the peace and quite on our farm!Please note it is a 7km gravel road to the Cottage 2x4 or 4x4 cars needed Des-April after rains and 50m stop from cottage and you have to take a stepping stone walk way to the house as its to wet to drive to the door. Wifi available only MTN signal

Sorgenfri is just what it's name says. Leave your worries at home. It offers beautiful views of the farmland. This is an active agricultural business, farming with cattle, sheep, soya beans and corn. The farm house was one of the first houses built on the farm in the early 1900's and was renovated recently.
