Mafube Mountain Retreat Garden Unit near Clarens

Mafube Mountain Retreat is a secluded guest farm about 25 minutes from Clarens and is a hikers and nature lover's paradise! It is situated in a stunning amphitheater of sandstone mountains, is child friendly and has very well defined Dinosaur footprints a short hike from the chalets. The Garden unit is a small self catering unit with one bedroom and which has space for two children sleeping in the lounge area. It is surrounded by a wilderness area and with breathtaking views from every window.

Loft Room @ Craigrossie

The Loft Room@Craigrossie is a self-catering space for two on Craigrossie Game Farm, 8 km (3kms on good gravel road) outside of Clarens towards Golden Gate. The self-contained space has a loft room with views over the dams & mountains, a queen bed with 100% cotton bedding, bathroom and a kitchenette downstairs. A borehole supplies water. DSTV, WiFi, tea, coffee & kitchen essentials (spices & olive oil) are provided. Bring your own rod for catch & release trout fishing (daily rod fees apply).

Unit 3

Located only 3km straight off the N3 highway, it is perfectly situated on your way to the coast or back up to Gauteng/Freestate. You’ll love it because of the peaceful environment, the view of the dam with a massive lawn for kids to play. You can swim or you can fish or chip a few golf balls on the lawn. Ceiling fans and aircon for the warm nights and a big, under roof verandah. We unfortunately do not have wifi or TV's, we believe in talking to each other 😉 and that kids should play.

Windmill Farm Cottage

Situated on the top of Oliviershoek Pass in the northern Drakensberg. This setting is one with a view of the valley below. Situated just inside the border of Kwaz-ulu Natal, Windmill Farm is conveniently located halfway between Johannesburg and Durban, in an area landscaped by the beauty of the vast Drakensberg mountain range. Only 35 km from the Natal National Park, which boasts the worlds second highest waterfall...the TUGELA FALLS. Only 15km from Sterkfontein Nature Reserve.

Highlands Farm Cottage

Our farm cottage is situated on the Drakensberg escarpment overlooking the valleys of Van Reenen’s Pass. This farm stay 4 sleeper unit is fully equipped with all you will need to live, work or get happy. Hiking, fishing, strolling, swimming, bike riding and hanging out on the farm is what we offer. We are load shedding resistant with WiFi during the shedding but we have lovely candles and fireplaces for your entertainment… Bring a book, a journal or an easel and come and enjoy.

Swiss Chalet Clarens

A unique chalet and an unforgettable experience - in the middle of a beautiful park with cute rabbits and fruit trees. The entire park is for the exclusive use of guests and is completely fenced in. A lot of activities are available directly in front of the chalet. The Golden Gate National Park is only 5 minutes away by car. There are numerous good restaurants, cafés, bars, stores and galleries in the center of Clarens. Absolute privacy and luxurious facilities!

De Krantz 6 Estate. Farmhouse. Clarens

This beautiful selfcatering house is situated in the Eastern Free State in South Africa, 25km from Bethlehem, 10 km outside Clarens. (3.5 km dirt/ gravel road) The house is done in a true farmhouse, rustic style with a lovely interior and lots of atmosphere. Well suited for a big family or 2 or 3 couples. Lovely 360' views with a view on a dam and wild life like zebras, impalas and waterbucks grazing in the estate. A true beauty for nature lovers.

Chestnut Cottage (4x4 Required)

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This is an open plan unit that can comfortably sleep 2 people. A vehicle with a high clearance or 4x4 is required. There is a patio outside shower for two, however you can still shower inside of the house as well. The cottage has a full kitchen (no oven available) with an outside braai area. There is a covered parking area. Three bags of firewood is supplied when checking in.

Claymore Country Cottage

A quaint cottage stay on a working-farm. The cottage sleeps 8 people. Feel free to walk around the farm lands, wonder down to the dam, catch some fish and just enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is a stand alone house, with good fencing so your pets can join you for your stay. There is undercover parking for 2 cars, but there is space for more cars to park inside the fence.

The Boathouse

Rose Garden Cottage

Sitting in the shade of a 150 year old Elm tree with a view of Platberg Mountain and sleeping in one of Harrismith’s historical landmarks is a treat. Harrismith is the gem of the Free State, the gateway to the Drakensberg. You can fly fish on uncrowded waters, bird along forgotten back roads or just enjoy the peace and quiet of a country town.
