Welcome to 'Tales of 1943' A property where 3-generations of my family were raised and today has been converted & renovated with modern and stylish interiors and amenities for you to experience. Located in the heart of Shillong city, this independent Assam-type home has been around for more than 80 years and is perfect for anyone looking for an escape. With timber-framed walls, slanting roofs, wooden floors, and a cozy fireplace in each room, this home is the perfect encapsulation of Shillong.

Centrally located in the capital city of Shillong offering a peaceful environment, perfect for getaways/long stays/workations. The property is conveniently located near Pantaloons and is 0.5 km (5 mins walk) away from Laitumkhrah which is one of the main hubs of Shillong. The room is spacious (16x14) with attached bath and a kitchen. It is well equipped with a smart TV, Wi-Fi, geyser and other basic amenities. Parking is available within the compound. The AirBnB is 45mins drive from Cherra/Sohra. NO MEALS provided. Two restaurants nearby and third in Nongwar 10mins drive.

To make their visit more adventurous, guests can explore scenic places of their choice on Cycles or E-Cycles which can be rented out fr this facility

Russet Butterfly: The Zephyr Studio and sleep loft

The Zephyr Room and sleeping Loft in the Russet Butterfly house is your own private space on the 2nd floor. The space has Twin Beds to accommodate 2 people. A short wooden staircase from the kitchenette leads to the "Loft" having a queen size bed. There is a private bathroom and well equipped kitchenette and a small balcony to enjoy some breeze. The house is located 3 km from the city centre. Transport, ATMs cafes bars restaurants, shopping and other amenities are within easy reach.
