Peace of Nature Rustic Retreat is located in a beautiful wooded property between a lake and a pond and wetland. The retreat features private entrance & covered patio with woods & lake views. A bird watchers dream with a variety of woodpeckers, nuthatch, hummingbirds, Bluejays & cardinals. Enjoy observing the many other critters here too — deer, ermine, otter, trumpeter swan, blue Herron, fox squirrels and more. Located within 10 minutes to fishing, hiking, bike trails, cc skiing and much more.

Historic 1880 Settler Cabin, Merryweather Farm

Merryweather Farm is a peaceful place on the open prairie. We raise organic garlic, apples, orchard pork, free-range chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and charming, lovable dogs and cats. Our goal is to provide a true pioneer experience with just a bit of comfort added. 1880 Norwegian Settlers Cabin is not modernized, attached barn has been rebuilt into uninsulated screen porch. Cabin has great old iron bed, loft has twin bed, screened in porch has day bed. Private modern bath included.

Welcome to Big Lake/Monticello! Our one bedroom studio is fully equipped for your stay. Private screen porch, separate, private entrance, full kitchen and bath. Ample parking. We provide a few light breakfast items such as coffee, juice, milk, muffins, bagels, and fruit. We will re-supply coffee, tea, bottled water. *note: Minnesota weather is unpredictable.
