The suite is attached to the house, but has its own exterior entrance, queen bed, bathroom with rain shower, flat screen TV & kitchenette. Sleeps 2 people. There’s no better place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine to soak in the views! We’re often frequented by eagles, deer & if you're lucky whales!

Welcome to your lakefront oasis in Youbou, British Columbia. Designed as a place for friends and family to gather, the Youbou Lakehouse is a sanctuary where you can unwind and connect with the natural world. Enjoy private lake access, a stunning view, 2 outdoor fire pits, paddle boards, a gorgeous sauna, salt water hot tub, and a massive 85” TV with surround sound. Spacious, peaceful 1250 sq ft. upper totally self contained suite. The crystal clear Nanaimo river at your doorstep. Spacious kitchen is ready for the family chef but if you don’t feel like cooking the neighborhood offers a variety of pubs and restaurants. Many trails close by for walking or jogging. Only a 10 minute drive to both the airport and B.C. ferries. Pets are permitted only with approval. If you plan on bringing your pet please message me before you book.

Imagine waking up to the sound of waves lapping on the rocks, the sunrise mirrored across the water. Take your coffee out onto the private oceanfront patio where you can lounge in the hammock. Kayaking around Departure Bay is easy as the kayaks are kept just above the high tide mark, grab life jackets and paddles from the yoga room and you’re good to go. Later you can relax in the hot tub. All this 10 minutes from the shops and cafes of Nanaimo.

The Hideout

We have updated The Hideout and look forward to welcoming the world back at the end of summer 2025!! The Hideout grew from a vision we had when we moved to the Coast in 2020. With the desire to share our dream of living amongst the trees, tucked away from the world, The Hideout was created. Wrapped in hand milled cedar, fir and hemlock this space was designed to remind us to slow down, breathe deep and take it all in.
