100 YearOld Traditional House above Takanoyu Sento

Tucked in the historic temple district of Hida-Takayama, this 100-year-old guesthouse is connected to Taka-no-yu, a beloved local bathhouse. Original wooden beams and shoji screens create a calm, authentically Japanese atmosphere. Guests enjoy free access to the open-air bath and wood-fired sauna — the perfect end to a day of exploring. At 600m elevation, summers are cool (20°C mornings) and winters bring quiet powdery snow.
