The Maluka Birding Society on the Zambezi river

With Maluka Birding Society as the flagship, we are creating a fully green eco-lodge and village community that will become the benchmark for truly sustainable tourism and experiences. This model places the community first, and the investor second. Purpose before profit, earth before man. We are currently raising the funds from like-minded individuals and groups, in order to create an eco-lodge and camp that will take bookings and generate income from our unique, eco-tourism model.

Mud Manna - a peaceful and creative earth retreat

Mud Manna is made of earth dug from nearby and crafted with love. Beautiful touches add to the rustic and artistic atmosphere, like handmade stained glass bird windows. Sue's paintings abound. The house is open plan with curtained privacy. Space and views from the stoep will keep you peaceful and calm. Bokmakieries, chanting goshawk, donkeys in a field across the road, wandering horses and cows, a stoep swing... Self-catering and self service. It is next door to Sue's home.

Karoo Ridge River Lodge

Karoo Ridge River Lodge is an eco-lodge set on a 10 000 ha Conservancy. It is set in a tranquil, private valley with wonderful scenery. Simply and tastefully furnished it is the perfect place to just relax, or for the more adventurous walk, hike, mountain bike and explore. Add on a night out in our star bed to your lodge stay. Tucked away in a private valley you can enjoy it as a romantic evening or an adventure to enjoy the celestial wonderland. (book direct) Pet friendly.

Karoo Cottage - Sneeuberg Nature Reserve

The cottage sleeps 6 and is equipped with absolutely everything you might need to enjoy your time in the beautiful, remote Karoo Landscape. Stone walls, A perfect home – away from home. Guests may book the large indoor pool at Gordonville. Please notify reception to when you would like to book Opens 10am Closes 6pm We welcome pets at Karoo Cottage, please read the rules regarding pets. Maximum of 2 pets allowed per stay. Additional charge of R150 per stay.

Aloe Room-Private En-suite room(SOLAR System)

Our room has everything you need, solar electricity, luxury linen with DSTV, Netflix, air conditioning,microwave and fridge(include dishware ) . It is a spacious room where you can relax and it’s perfect for business travelers where they have a friendly work space for their laptops. We also have a security guard who patrol our premises.

The Art house is just off the N7.

The Art house accommodation in Bitterfontein is a 100 + year old cob house filled with collectables and local art, preserves and books. It has a lovely indigenous garden full of succulents and 28 bird species. And lovely to gaze at the stars or just relax.

Farmstay Okakeua

Our Deluxe King Rooms feature 2 single beds made as a double bed with en-suite bathroom. One Deluxe King Room has a bathroom with a bath and shower and the other has a shower only. There is a beautiful garden onsite and free Wi-Fi.

Khamkirri - Family Unit

natural design to evoke relaxation and comfort in our climate and environment, in nature wild and free. guests can be totally self catering or come to main camp and enjoy our in house amenities on offer.

Corbelled House on a Karoo Farm

Our unique Corbelled House, build in the late 1700s is one of only 40 well preserved Corbelled Houses in South Africa. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom and a braai area under the Karoo stars.
