Feel spoilt by the elegance of yesteryear in the 1800’s manor of Mount Pleasant. Dine al fresco beside your private pool at this historic property nestled under Table Mountain. Unwind with a glass of Cape wine in the gracious and romantic guest suite with its own vine-strewn garden, or curl up in an armchair by the grand stone fireplace. The spacious and airy open-plan guest suite is ideal for couples and young families. Centrally located in leafy Newlands, within walking distance of the famous sports stadiums, UCT and SACS. The house has been recently renovated and is a family home, and the property of Mount Pleasant is an interesting slice of Cape Town’s history, dating back to the 18th Century. The guest suite is ideal for a couple or family and consists of: - one large open plan bedroom-lounge (sleeps 3 - 4) - a full kitchen - bathroom with bath, shower, double vanity - a private lap pool - private garden looking up to Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak. In summer, lazing beside the sunny pool, dining outside and having a traditional South African “braai” (barbecue) are a must and in winter the roaring fire, full kitchen and TV provide a warm retreat. The bedroom-lounge is open plan with separate kitchen and bathroom. King size bed, a single sofa bed and a further single bed set up in the suite for 4th guest if required. Cable TV and WiFi are included. On offer are bottles of wine and drinks, laundry and cleaning services. Other extras which may be available are: use of the baronial dining room for meetings (seating for up to 18 people) or special occasions (daytime only). Please note: the pool is NOT fenced and is immediately adjacent to the suite, so please take extra care (therefore the space is not recommended for children who cannot swim). Private garden and pool. Off-street parking for 1 car. Use of the large dining room on request. Guests can enjoy total privacy, but the family and domestic staff are usually at home to welcome you and happy to answer questions and assistance via phone or text.Our friendly dogs: Boris, Frankie, Josh and Pixel will always give you an enthusiastic welcome (but your garden and wing is private so the dogs won’t bother you). Newlands is one of the original leafy suburbs of Cape Town bordering the University and State President’s residence. Lovely and sheltered from summer winds and cafes, restaurants and shops are a stroll away. Newlands is perfectly central for most of Cape Town’s most popular excursions. Table Mountain and cableway, the V&A Waterfront, beaches, wine farms, and the city centre are all within 10-25 minutes' drive and Ubers etc are readily available. The suburb of Newlands itself has many attractions, but to enjoy the full offering of Cape Town we recommend hiring a car or taking a taxi (Uber or call-taxi). Private guides or drivers will also collect directly from the premises. Airport transfers/shuttles/taxis are available at the airport or by booking through a transfer company. POOL Important: the pool is not protected with a net or fence and is immediately adjacent to the suite so please be careful and we do NOT recommend the suite for infants/children who cannot swim. PETS We can accommodate pets on request, but be aware there are resident dogs. EXTRAS Extras, such as wine, can be paid in cash or through the SnapScan App. MEETINGS & FUNCTIONS The baronial dining room can be booked for special meetings and daytime functions (rates/availability on request). It is a handsome room and seats 14-18 people. SHOOTS & LOCATION The Mount Pleasant manor house and grounds may be available for professional photography/film shoots. This would need to be by special arrangement directly with owners or their agents. Rates vary according to specifics of the shoot. (Please note: use of the guest space for commercial shoots would be an extra cost and is not included in the accommodation rate).

Romantic Cape Town Cottage with Mountain Views
This stand alone cottage on our private property is located in the Bishopscourt area of the Western Cape. The cottage is an open plan lounge,bedroom with two big verandas, a kitchenette and a large bathroom with a shower and bath that opens out to a very private balcony with sun loungers and an outside shower. With magnificent views of the mountain and terrains, one can fully unwind and relax in this more than spacious cottage. This private cottage will be all yours during your stay. There are multiple lounging areas inside and outside the cottage. Our long serving housekeeper, Maks, will be there to look after you and make sure you always have what you need.She cleans and does the washing daily except on a Sunday. Located within walking distance to many stunning hikes, walking routes, mountain biking, and cycling routes. There are many places nearby that you can rent bikes and there is ample storage at the house for bikes to be stored. There is ample and secure parking on our property for the vehicle you bring along for your stay. I am usually here and am very happy to help with advice at all times. This home is in a quiet residential area with beautiful houses and leafy streets. Close to the botanical gardens and near the city. Uber Available.Safe parking on the grounds of the property. No need for Air Conditioning units as the mountain air in the mornings and evenings will be cool and crisp all year long. There is a ceiling fan, if you need additional cooling. Aboyne Cottage—Peaceful Oasis in Quiet Cul-De-Sac
Pluck lemons from the tree and pick herbs from the planters for use in a tasty dish to enjoy in the cool and shaded courtyard. The bright and airy cottage interior has high vaulted ceilings, together with a selection of books and magazines to read to enjoy in the bed made up with 400TC luxury linen. Battery backed up Wi-Fi and additional lights for surviving load shedding. No smoking allowed on property. Guests have own cottage with a private, shady courtyard. Herbs in planters in courtyard and dart board are available for guests to use as well as lemons on own lemon tree. We're an international family consisting of a South African, a New Zealander and a Norwegian. One of us will always be available on our phones and we're happy to chat and share a G&T on our porch if our guests are up for it! This guesthouse is in a quiet neighbourhood, about 15 minutes by car from town and near to vibrant Harfield. Closer still, the village offers a farm stall, butchery, and supermarket within a short walk, plus coffee shops and lots of restaurants. We always recommend uber for short term stays in Cape Town but there is an off-street sheltered parking available if needs be. 10 minute walk to Kenilworth train station and 2 minute walk from Main Road with frequent taxi buses in both directions. Servicing of cottage and laundry can be done on request. Continental breakfast can be provided on request.

Our guests are encouraged to take a walk through the gardens and explore the extensive flora! As your hosts we we will help make your stay as peaceful and accommodating as possible. Let us know any specific requests including extras you may need for your stay. The house is located in Cape Town's prestigious Bishopscourt neighbourhood with shops, restaurants, the V&A waterfront, and beaches just a short drive away. Visit Constantia Valley’s award-winning vineyards, like Eagles' Nest or Beau Constantia. An available Uber is never more than 5 mins away, but if you have rented a car you can park it in our secluded road or within the property.

This free-standing unit has a private entrance, private verandah, secure off-street parking. It is in walking distance of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. It has a bathroom en-suite with a shower and a fully equipped kitchenette, including a gas hob and an air fryer. Full satellite TV bouquet and free Wi-Fi are included. There is an air conditioner and heaters. Electric blankets are on the beds in winter. The unit is cleaned by the owner and all recommended Covid-19 protocols are observed.
