Ruthie’s Balcony Suite bears the name of our beloved family matriarch. And for good reason. It’s the best room in the house. Vaulted ceilings soar above a huge bedroom/living area, including a spacious kitchenette and full-sized bathroom. But it’s the balcony you’ll love most. Overlooking the corner of Esplanade and Chartres, it’s the perfect place to people-watch while enjoying the pot pourri of sounds that drift over from the nearby markets, jazz clubs, and bustling Mississippi waterfront.

Okra Inn Guest House: Red Bedroom

The 100 year old building was recently renovated into a licensed B&B. During the renovation we took care to keep the New Orleanian character of the home: the 12-foot ceilings, original hardwood floors, beautiful molding, and a jazzy blend of colors. Upstairs are six guest bedrooms. Downstairs is a spacious living room, dining room, and stocked kitchen. The rear of the building holds off-street parking and a huge back yard. This listing is for one guest bedroom with a detached private bath.

Monday-Friday 8-5 we're not a quiet corner but on any night it’s relaxing, providing a restful night. Our neighbor, Race & Religious, hosts weddings with live music but never past 11PM. If you need to go to bed early, we might not be a good fit. Uniquely located, close to the Garden District, Arts/Museum District, French 1/4 and the Conventional Center
