Tucked away in the village of Jawana (which means the village beneath the cliff), about 20 min drive through a farm road from the main road near Punakha Dzong is a Bhutanese treasure called Aum Wangmo Homestay. The 5-acre farm has been in Aum Wangmo’s family for about 200 years, since her great-great-grandfather’s time. Well maintained, the farmhouse has been repaired, extended and renovated to house two modern toilets/bathrooms and five rooms to accommodate 10 tourists comfortably.

The Folkstone cottage room on the ground floor is your own private space with a seperate entrance ,own bathroom and kitchenette . The room has Twin Beds to accommodate 2 people and an extra diwan bed for lounging. The house is located 3 km from the city centre. Transport, ATMs cafes bars restaurants, shopping and other amenities are within easy reach. i Backroads provide for good walks from this place.

Swarna's Homestay

Swarna's Homestay is the rooftop cottage in a three-storey house. Overlooking the Kolong river, it provides a lovely countryside view. Guests have access to the entire cottage and the terrace gardens. Homecooked food is provided on request. It is a silent neighbourhood. Guests have full privacy and more than one dedicated working space. It is suitable for transit and short stays as well as long stays.
