Welcome to the Railyard, a queer-owned and trans-centric Bed and Breakfast located in the Historic Bywater Neighborhood. This mid-Century delight has all of the aesthetic of the 1950's but none of bigotry! Complete with clothing optional hours and immaculate vibes - a haven for the LGBTQ+ community, artists and creatives - if you stay with us you will be meeting some of New Orleans's best! As an extra step, we ask folks reserving a stay to find and send the “safe word” in the house rules:)

Balcony Suite where French Quarter meets Frenchmen

Ruthie’s Balcony Suite bears the name of our beloved family matriarch. And for good reason. It’s the best room in the house. Vaulted ceilings soar above a huge bedroom/living area, including a spacious kitchenette and full-sized bathroom. But it’s the balcony you’ll love most. Overlooking the corner of Esplanade and Chartres, it’s the perfect place to people-watch while enjoying the pot pourri of sounds that drift over from the nearby markets, jazz clubs, and bustling Mississippi waterfront.

High ceilings with intricate plaster detail are featured in an antebellum mansion home built in 1851 which sits right in front of the streetcar/trolley stop. A great experience to be right there on "the Avenue" under the 250 year old oak trees. You can take our self guided walking tour through the Garden District and see one home after another built in 1800's, with names of architect (if known), year built and who lived there.
