We are next to a >1400 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of trails. Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Blue Ridge Highway, Smith Mountain Lake, James River, wineries, breweries, shopping are close by. 18 min to Roanoke College and 40 minutes to Virginia Tech. Welcome to beautiful WV! Our cottage is secluded, easy to get to, overlooks fields and a lovely pond. There are trails and fishing on the property, and views in all directions. The cottage is fully air conditioned, clean, has WiFi and is located 8 min. from I-64 and 10 min. from both White Sulphur Springs (the Greenbrier) and Lewisburg, WV (“Coolest Small Town” winner). We love hosting guests on our farm, in our cozy cottage with beauty, peace and quiet, trails, fishing, and mountain air.

Amazing handcrafted cabin located in the center of the "Roanoke Triple Crown" (McAfee's Knob, tinker cliffs and dragons tooth trails) just minutes from each trail head. Cabin is tucked away from everything. No other houses can be seen from the cabin. The cabin overlooks a beautiful pond with a small waterfall cascading in. Cabin was sustainability built with trees from the 20 acres it sits on. McAfee's Knob trailhead is 10 minutes away, Andy Layne trailhead to tinker cliffs is 9 minutes away.

Surround yourself with nature, national forest, a mountain creek, and alpacas in this serene setting on a 37-acre working alpaca farm. A perfect get-away that will melt your stress away. You will have the opportunity to interact and learn about these magical animals. With pasture surrounding three sides and beautiful mountain view’s. Peaceful tiny house with amazing view of Sharp Top Mountain! Features: hot tub, outdoor dining area, small kitchenette amenities, and smart-tv w/firestick (must use your hotspot to stream). 10 min to BR Parkway, Peaks of Otter, and Claytor Nature Center. Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. (Look for Wind Tides Farm sign). ***If booking in winter months, keep in mind the wind tends to be heavy, depending on weather.***

The Magical Cabin on Back Creek

Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Unwind in a spacious tiny home on a working farm with vegetables, herbs, fruits, dairy goats, sheep, and chickens. We love sharing our farmstead with guests and also understand if guests prefer tranquil time to themselves. We are a 20 min drive to Dragon's Tooth, and 10 minutes to VA42 (Kelly Knob or the Keffer Oak).
