Unplug at an Original Log Cabin Set High in Woodland Valley

Feel cozy and inspired in a rustic cabin updated with modern conveniences. It is set in a beautiful valley, near the hamlets of Phoenicia and Woodstock. We've tried to honor the simplicity of this 60's log cabin with pieces that would have occupied the space back then. Yes, the red formica is original and the curtains came with the house. Everything else was hunted down through vintage stores and flea markets - and it makes us smile. We spend time with our friends there: making cocktails and great dinners, going for walks, playing cards and awful games of charades. There is also a VHS library and Atari in the bunk room that is a hit with kids and adults. Unplug and relax! It’s a rewarding retreat from the pace of modern life. You will have access to the entire house and grounds. We are in Brooklyn, but please, text or call anytime, we have friends in the area who can help with any difficulties. This relaxed retreat is located at the edge of a wood with views of the mountain ridges. It is a small, friendly neighborhood a 5-minute car ride from Phoenicia and a short drive from Woodstock, Belleayre, and Hunter. You will need a car (or Bike) to get to the house. Friends joining you could take the Trailways bus into Phoenicia (5 minute drive), or Amtrak to the Rhinecliff station (RHI) (40 min drive). "Such a cute place with cabin-in-the-woods vibes but all the conveniences of being in town." What Shannon said in her 5 star review. Couldn't have put it better myself. Relax and reconnect in this calm and quiet little house nestled in the center of our cool village. You're on the doorstep of hiking trails with breathtaking views and gorgeous trout streams. Lounge around a glowing campfire in the back yard with S’mores or spin viny. On NYC bus route and ski shuttle.

House next door also available: airbnb.com/h/nyhawkhouse The Eagle Cottage is a 2 bdr on the Esopus creek. The cottage is 15 min. to the Ashokan reservoir and ski slopes, and 20 min. to Woodstock. Enjoy private access to the stream. This spot has some of the best fishing holes on one of the best trout streams in NY. Take a beautiful hike nearby as well! Newly furnished, large wrap around deck with stream view, full kitchen, outdoor fireplace by stream and gril.
