In 2025, a portion of all bookings will donated to local youth hockey.

Pricing is per bedroom; $144/night for 1 bedroom accommodating 1-2 guests. Additional $87/night for a second bedroom for 3-4 guests. A Tax of approximately 6% is added to this pricing. Located on a dead-end gravel road, 1.5 miles to hard surface road. There is a house behind the cottage where one person lives. Construction completed in 2020, has a deck, a 2-acre pond, 15 acres cleared, woods to wander in, walking distance to Otter River, 19 miles to Houghton, 13 miles to Baraga on Lake Superior.

From skiing and snowmobiling to hiking and mountain biking, you are minutes away from endless adventure.

Rustic cabin w/sauna on Portage Lk

Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

Otter House

Otter House is a beautifully appointed log cabin in the trees overlooking Otter Lake. It is comfortably furnished with a well equipped kitchen. The lakefront has a small beach, 3 kayaks, a canoe, hammocks and a fire pit. Otter Lake is a tranquil spot with great fishing and very little boat traffic. Canoe up the Otter River or Kayak down to the dam. You will see eagles, beavers, turtles, loons, geese and if you're lucky an otter. There is a parking pad for your RV or trailer.

Fog Signal House at Sand Hills

Enjoy an extraordinary couple's retreat at the historic Fog Signal House at Sand Hills Lighthouse. Originally built in 1919 to house two massive fog horns, the Fog House has been transformed into a relaxing space for two. Roam on 3000 ft of private Lake Superior shoreline, wake to stunning sunrises, stargaze at a pristine night sky. Tune into the remarkable landscape in any season. The design hearkens to its industrial past, but is full of contemporary amenities for your comfort.

Our musta mokki (Finnish black cabin) is the perfect place for your Keweenaw vacation! This brand-new Scandinavian modern design waterfront home is conveniently located right outside Hancock on the snowmobile/ATV trail and the portage canal. Minutes away from Mont Ripley Ski Hill, Michigan Tech University, local cross-country ski trails, the Houghton Co. Airport, and Lake Superior, this home has all you need to enjoy the amazing outdoor landscape of the Copper Country!

Two bedroom cottage, nestled in the stunning Keweenaw Peninsula, is on 330 foot of lakeshore and surrounded by forest and nature. 50 foot dock recently added. This peaceful paradise awaits your arrival, located just 15 minutes from Houghton and MTU. Sleeps 6 total. We are approximately 4.8 miles from the Dollar Bay Snow Mobile Trailhead, Great snowshoeing around the property as well. cottage is on a shared driveway with owners. About 55 minutes from Mount Bohemia.

A spa in the heart of the Keweenaw

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Stay in the heart of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, not far from beautiful Lake Superior, Copper Harbor, and downtown Calumet's National Historic Park. We have added a “spa” room in our basement that has a large steam room/sauna, a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub and full bathroom. Our house does not have a TV but we do have awesome Spectrum wifi. There’s also in floor heat and central air conditioning! Sorry no pets.

Borealis Cabin on Portage

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place on Portage Lake. Property is less than 20 minutes from Houghton and Michigan Tech. The snowmobile trail is easily accessible and less than 1/2 mile away. For skiing enthusiasts Mont Ripley is about 15 minutes away and Mount Bohemia is about an hour away. The Maasto Hiito, MTU and Swedetown ski trails are all within 20 minutes! There’s a dock and boat lift. There is also a wood burning sauna to take out the chill.

You'll have access to shared spaces including a sauna, game room, and firepit. You’re also welcome to enjoy our lakeside beach, which is part of our yard. The setting is active and social—perfect for guests looking to explore the Keweenaw. We live next door and are happy to help if needed!
