Our solar ranch is very peaceful and has been featured in Faerie Magazine, Tiny House, Mother Earth News, Drevo & Stavby (a chec Republic Architectural Magizine) and included in several Cordwood books and dvd's by Rob Roy, Richard Flatau and others. We are open year round. Please note that no smoking is allowed indoors, but smoking of all types is allowed outside ;-)

Our little piece of old historic Monte Vista sits almost in the center of town. Built in 1886, it has thick walls that surround you in hushed silence. Quaint, 2 bedrooms separated by a solid wood French barn door, 1-1/2 bathrooms, 1,000 sq ft. Full kitchen: glass top stove, microwave, large fridge under cabinet, dishwasher, and everything you need. Washer & Dryer in the laundry room, just off the kitchen. Private front door parking. Keypad entry on both front and back doors.

This accommodation is on the second floor (the first floor is a private garage). In a quiet neighborhood, you will be surrounded by cottonwoods. In the summer you might feel like you are in your personal tree house. In the winter, when the trees are bare, you can gaze down at nature’s artistry of branches and shadows on the snow. A wall of windows lets you overlook the historic Rio Grande River. This place is a get-a-way haven for nature lovers who want their own space.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Easy travel to the Great Sand Dunes, hot spring pools, hiking, off roading, skiing and hunting. Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge within 8 miles. Off street parking allows room for recreational vehicle parking as well. This cozy apartment of 500 sq ft is perfect for 2, but can accommodate 4 with the queen bedroom and the futon which makes into a queen size bed. Monte Vista is a small rural town.
