You are going to stay in our small but cozy guest house in the middle of the country site in the village of Birdhill. Its a self contained guest house with a kitchen/living room, small double bedroom and bathroom. We are conveniently located only 10 min away from M7 motorway (exit 27), and 20 min away from Limerick City. Shannon airport 40 min drive. Killaloe/ Ballina which is located only 10min drive from our house is one of the most picturesque village attractions with plenty of restaurants.

Its only a 20 minute drive to Limerick City and close to Clare Glens and Glenstal Abbey. A car is recommended but there is a good bus service that operates from Limerick City to Cashel about 6 times a day - the 332.

Charming 15th Century Castle

Built in the late 1400s, Grantstown Castle has been lovingly restored and mixes medieval architecture with modern comforts. The Castle Is Rented In Its Entirety And Caters For Up To Seven Guests. The castle is comprised of six floors, connected via a stone and oak spiral staircase. There are three double bedrooms and one single. The castle has great battlements which are accessible at the top of the staircase and host amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

Bluebell Cottage is a beautiful 200 year old home built by the Dunraven family of Adare Manor as accommodation for some of their servants. Short drive to either Limerick City or Killaloe on Lough Derg. With St Johns Castle and Bunratty Castle and folk park also within 15 to 30mins drive. A fantastic gateway for those looking to explore West Ireland and Atlantic coast line.
