Brian's place is in a nice quiet location just a $6 Uber from downtown or Ohio City. There are well-reviewed restaurants and bars nearby, but we realized (after we arrived) that most of what we were interested in was in Ohio City, rather than Tremont so can't speak to them. There are two coffee shops that open at 7am within a few blocks, and both were fine .
Space was cute and tidy (if not clean), but bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The loft also doesn't have a railing and there are only a few inches between the foot of the bed and the edge of the loft -- this makes it hard for the person on the far side of the bed to get to the ladder in the middle of the night. Bathroom had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, and floors throughout the space had human and pet hair on them. Fridge contained a several-week expired jug of milk. Brian offered to have someone come clean while we were there, but that didn't seem worth the hassle for our short stay. It did appear that the sheets on the bed were clean, and we'd brought our own towels, so that was all that really mattered to me. Wifi worked well.
Overall, our stay at Brian's place was fine, and it seemed like a decent value vs a hotel. It was very bare bones, and certainly could use some greater attention to detail in cleaning and things like (since it lists coffee as available) making sure that there is enough coffee for the number of people & nights the booking is for. I have mixed feelings about recommending it, because whether or not it will work for you depends on how important cleanliness is to you (I mean, the place wasn't *filthy*), whether or not you're okay with encounters with a large (very friendly) dog on your way in and out, and to what extent you're really relying on a place to provide things like coffee. I personally probably will look for another place the next time I'm in Cleveland, but I wouldn't rule Brian's out completely.
