Historic Loon Lake is located close to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid in the heart of the Adirondacks. Our all-wood constructed guest-house is the perfect place for nature lovers who wish to UNPLUG* and unwind, or venture out and explore the majesty of the area. Relax on the porch and listen to the loons, or cozy up by the wood-stove. You’ll love this area's natural beauty and above all its peace and quiet.
*If you're ready to take a break from electronic devices, this is the perfect place!
You will be renting a two bedroom guest cottage complete with a fully equipped kitchen,as well as dining and living areas. There is a push-button propane fueled "wood-stove" with a nice comfy rocking chair and a pull-out log futon next to it. There is a TV and DVD player available, with a good selection of movies and books to indulge in. ( But sorry, there is no cable or satellite TV service.) For eating, there is a four-seat dining table surrounded by windows to sit at and enjoy your meals. Each bedroom has a closet and tables in addition to the queen-sized log bed complete with flannel sheets for extra comfort and warmth. Each bedroom also has its own door out onto the porch, which is the perfect place to sit and relax, while breathing in the therapeutic mountain air. We took great care to provide our guesthouse with quality Adirondack and European chalet-style decorations and furnishings. The ample amount of windows allow guests to draw in nature and enjoy the beauty that surrounds it.
You will have entire guesthouse to yourself, with an outdoor grill available for your use. There are shared access points to the lake, as well as hiking trails, all located within a short distance for you to take advantage of and enjoy.
One of us will be staying in the main house located on the same acre of land, and will be available to help you is the need arises. Feel free to ask!
We have purposely chosen to keep our Adirondack property a place to enjoy activities alternative to TV and internet, as we feel it is very healthy to unplug for periods of time...and there are far greater things to do in the Adirondack Park. Cell phone reception is poor to null, but there is a landline available for your convenience. We apologize to those who feel they cannot go without.
