This neighborhood is a haven for those wanting the quiet local experience with excellent restaurants and coffee shops right out your doorstep.

The living space has a small pull-out couch and a TV with basic cable. There is also a small desk if you need to get work done during your stay. We have fast and reliable 100Mb internet. The router is in located in the apartment.
The bedroom has a very comfortable mattress, soft sheets, great pillows, and the room has black-out blinds. The bedroom windows face the backside of the building so you will not hear noise from the street.
Our kitchen has all of the basic necessities to cook and eat a meal, as well as a large refrigerator.
There is a brand new washing machine but no dryer (drying rack is provided). If you prefer to have someone wash and dry for you there is a laundry service around the corner.
There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the apartment and there has never been. This is a residential neighborhood and loud parties and music are also not permitted to respect our neighbors.

Madragoa, which, together with Alfama, was home to Lisbon's fishwives and fishing community. Today it's a neighborhood known for its traditional taverns, calçada streets and "petiscos" (tapas) restaurants, and for its many tiled façades.
There is a family-owned coffee roaster at the end of the street that has been there since the 1950's. They have one of only 2 wood burning roasters in Europe and they roast every Monday and Wednesday morning.
The apartment is right next to the Marionette Museum, which is an often missed but delightful museum located in an old convent. https://www.museudamarioneta.pt/en/
It's within walking distance to Cais de Sodre, one of the main train stations in Lisbon and the famous Mercado de Ribeira

I am an American doctor, specializing in sports medicine. My wife and I left the US in 2013 to travel the world and settled in Lisbon in 2015. We stayed almost exclusively in Airbnb's over the years and are excited to have our own in Lisbon now. We took our experiences from other Airbnb's to make sure ours has everything we would want (especially fast Wifi!).
