There’s just something about driving along a winding country road that makes the pressures of
the workday world slip away. Once you’ve pulled in the horseshoe-shaped driveway, you and
your companions can focus on what’s really important: spending some quality time in Brown
County OR in the neighboring city of Bloomington, home of Indiana University and the "HOOSIERS".
In selecting Away From It All, you’ve chosen a nice brick, one-level house that’s easy to
navigate for Mom & Pop, the young ones, and Grammie and Gramps, too.
The front door opens wide into the living room, where a comfy sectional sofa and a recliner are
ready to host the crowd with a big bowl of buttery popcorn on movie night. Whoever
volunteers, (or is ‘volun-told’), to be the cook can poke around in the fully equipped kitchen and
make some family favorites for all to enjoy. Did somebody say tacos? The dishwasher, smooth-
top stove, and the other usual kitchen appliances are right there to make mealtime prep
simple...all you’ll need to bring are the fixins’. The big round dining table will ensure that
everybody has a seat, and the wood-burning fireplace insert is especially nice on a chilly
evening (firewood is supplied by the owner). As a bonus, the attached garage is a place where
the kids can play... and the owner is contemplating adding a pool table to this space, as well.
Each of the three bedrooms features a cozy king-size bed, complete with plenty of pillows and
blankets for your sleeping comfort. Two of the bedrooms can share the main bathroom in the
hallway, but the couple who claim the master bedroom will have their own private bathroom.
Both baths have a shower/tub combo, with grab bars for safety...and, of course, lots of fluffy
towels are supplied.
A nice, long deck goes all along the back side of the house, and there’s where you’ll find the gas
grill and plenty of outdoor seating. A dining table, lounge chairs, and a fire pit complete the
outdoor amenities. Because the homeowner loves gardening and birds, the guests of Away
From It All will enjoy nature’s benefits. Birdseed is provided (in the garage), and you’re
encouraged to keep the feeders filled while you’re here, if you like.
Brown County has lots of fun, interesting activities, so be sure to investigate the options: zip-
lines, mountain biking, hiking, paintball, ATV tours...and then there’s the well-known shops,
galleries, and restaurants. Indiana University and Lake Monroe are close-by and offer plenty of
things to do in the Bloomington area. So much to see and do...so little time. Have some fun!
