Fantail Cabin on Lake Ohakuri, Waikite Valley

Fantail Pod is located in a beautiful scenic rural area on the edge of our Angus farm bordering Lake Ohakuri. A water lovers paradise with boating, wake boarding, kayaking and fishing right on our doorstep. Or soak in the geothermal water just a stones throw away. Wake up to the stunning views from our brand new accommodation with a comfortable queen bed and ensuite bathroom, complete with linens and towels. The shared covered outdoor kitchen includes everything needed for alfresco dining.

Lake Rotoiti Lakefront - hot water creek

The hot water creek is in our bay! Wind your way through a pretty forest on the shores of Lake Rotoiti. 20 mins from Lake Rotorua. The bach is a big L shaped room with a separate bathroom. A hot pool is in the bush about a 15 minute walk away. Kayak to the hot water stream in the corner of the bay. Grab a water taxi up to the Lake Rotoiti Hotpools (only accessible by boat. Lovely for swimming. Bike and walk in the forest. Note- TV does not get reception ( there are a range of DVDs onsite).

This off-grid and self-build hut, unreachable by car, is set in a quiet, idyllic, rural landscape, overlooking rolling farmland with no another property in sight. It is situated in the middle of our 120 acre cattle farm. Solar power,a walk across rolling farmland, and a STEEP AND UNEVEN 10 MINUTE HIKE UPHILL to get to the hut, offer an authentic off-grid experience. We recommend only bringing up the bare necessities. Get your boots on and explore!

Tranquill Country Retreat in Rotorua City
