I recommend their library - a quiet, comfortable, modern space with stunning views and full of light, and a great place to work hard if you want to eliminate distractions. University of Montreal's Architecture Library is also a quiet gem for this purpose.

This superstore has everything, and it's a short walk away. You may want to hop on the bus on your return trip, as it won't be easy to carry your groceries up the hill (unless you want to squeeze in a workout as well!).

Parks & Nature
A must-see. Within walking distance, this is Montrealers' favorite place for walks, hikes, jogging and running, winter sports, picnics, get-togethers. Major bonus: the stunning vista of the city skyline and the river at the equally stunning and welcoming chalet on top of the mountain! Look for Leonard Cohen's portrait in the distance. See if you can catch a free concert at the chalet. Find your own hidden place to relax. This is the 'real' in Montreal :)

Just amazing, no matter the season. Exit through the basement, cross the street, and there you are. A real forest in the middle of the city. You can really get lost there - I have many times! A joggers' and dog walkers' paradise as well. Surrounded by mansions, and there's a wonderful view of Montreal on one side - see if you can find it :)

Sightseeing
It's so close - just take the shortcut through Summit Woods and a quick walk through Montreal's fanciest neighborhood, Westmount. You will arrive at the Oratoire's back entrance and go through its beautiful gardens in order to reach the front and the breathtaking view of Montreal available from there. You can also take a peek inside and, why not, squeeze in a work out session by taking the many (many many) stairs up and down.
