Strangely perfect mix of pizza, beer and traditional Japanese ramen. Their Japanese pizza is amazing, and they have frozen beer (which is the best thing ever in the AZ summer!)

Coolest botanical garden ever! It is a beautiful place, perfect for a sunset stroll and worth every penny.
Look on groupon for their best rates! Also - during some parts of the year they have concert series and even ballet in the park!

They often have really cool exhibits at the galleries there, and a good mix of lectures, music and theatre in the auditorium.
It also is a beautiful place to take in Tempe Town Lake.

Amazing museum focused on Native American culture, primarily in this area - but there are exhibits from all over the world. The most shocking and interesting exhibit for me, was the boarding school exhibit. I would highly recommend this experience. Also one of the best gift shops ever, and absolutely the best place to buy *real* Native American crafts.
Easily accessible by light-rail!

Essentials
Great little indoor market full of local produce, dairy, baked goods etc. They have a wonderful selection and their prices are very reasonable. Oh and they make excellent coffee drinks!
