Lake Lure is Nestled right in the heart of the Hickory Nut Gorge East of Asheville. The lake is approx. 720 acres and about 21 miles of shoreline. There are plenty of things to do like swimming, hiking, fishing including fly fishing, skiing, rock climbing, golfing, boating, shopping, and there are many types of different places to eat including Italian, Mexican, bbq, etc.

Lake Lure is Nestled right in the heart of the Hickory Nut Gorge East of Asheville. The lake is approx. 720 acres and about 21 miles of shoreline. Chimney Rock is nestled in Hickory Nut Gorge between Lake Lure and Bat Cave. It has been privately owned for more than 100 years by the Morse family. Chimney Rock is named for its 535 million year old monolith, and is considered one of the most iconic sites to see in North Carolina. From the top of the rock you can take in the beautiful panoramic views. The park offers hiking trails for all ages and abilities. One of the trails will take you to a 404 foot waterfall, which is one of the highest of its kind east of the Mississippi River. They also have a trail that is designed for kids with 12 discovery stations with locally made sculptures that tell them about the animals that call Chimney Rock home. The skyline trail will take you to the highest peak which is 2,480 ft.
