Sightseeing/Activities
Overlook park is a great place to view and access Canyon Lake. It is located on the other side of the dam. You can either walk/ ride your bike there across the dam or drive around and park in their lot. This is a very popular park with free access. Parking capacity is limited so go early (before 10am)or go late (after 4:30) to avoid the park being full upon your arrival.

This gravel beach is great for families. It has shallow water and is a great place for kids to swim. There is a small entrance fee.

This is a winding scenic drive that follows the lower Guadalupe from Canyon Lake to Gruene. There are multiple outfitters here for tubing and kayaking. Due to Covid-19 please call the outfitters ahead of time to learn about their hours and policies. Start your drive down River Road in Sattler. Turn right on South Access Road and then go straight through the light at FM 2673. You will be on River Road. Start your drive here and take it all thr way to Gruene.

This park was under construction, but I believe its now open. Its a beautiful park with multiple spots to access the San Marcos River. There is a pretty man-made waterfall thats sometimes flowing and sometimes dry. Limited street parking available and no restrooms.

If you have tubes of your own, this is a great place to park, inflate your tubes, and enjoy the Horseshoe float trip. You just pay for parking and air (if you need it) inside the convince store. No shuttle needed. This place is located right in the middle of the Horseshoe. The convince store also has an essentials you mught need for your float trip: drinks, water shoes, sunscreen, waterproof bag, etc..

Also the last I checked, the Canyon Lake Marina ski boats were Sea Ray's. All their boats have awnings and gas is typically included. Some of the other rental locations don't include gas.

If you're coming to the property through San Marcos, this would be the best HEB to stop at on your way. They do offer curbside pickup. The fastest route to the property if you're coming down south bound I35 would be through San Marcos down Wonderworld Dr. This is a beautiful drive and takes you across the Devils Backbone.

The fastest route to the property if you're coming down south bound I35 would be through San Marcos down Wonderworld Dr. This is a beautiful drive and takes you across the Devils Backbone.
