A remote but popular Tarn at the top of the pass between Dungeon Ghyll and Little Langdale. The road is teep and narrow. It is one of the easiest tarns to visit, as the footpaths have been upgraded and it has a convenient car park.

As an alternative to Windermere, you can get on the water in a more genteel pace of the Coniston Steam Gondola, the oldest steam yacht in the North of England which was built in 1859 and restored in 1980. Enjoy a circular tour of the lake.
