The Saugeen Rail Trail is an 8km long year-round, multi-use trail that connects Southampton and Port Elgin. Current recreational uses include walking, hiking, jogging, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Built on the old Wellington Grey Bruce Railway line that ran in the late 1860s and early 1870s, the trail is an excellent means of transportation between these two shoreline communities.

Friday Bagpipes at sunset
Every Friday at sunset during the summer, take in the magic of the piper. The sunset piper pipes down the sunset on Southampton's beach at the flag. Come down about a half hour before the sun sets and enjoy the bag pipe music until after sunset.
