White Salmon is a laid-back mountain town filled with folks who love the outdoors, craft beer, tasty wine, and good food. All year-round kayakers come from around the world to kayak our rivers and waterfalls, kite-boarders and windsurfers gather here in the summer, mountain bikers start hitting it hard in the spring, paragliders love the bluffs, skiers and snowboarders thrash the Hood, snowmobilers ride the national forest, and PCT hikers arrive in the summer. In White Salmon, you will feel like a local but with all of the benefits of the Columbia River Gorge, White Salmon River, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and the Mt Adams Wilderness. You also get a fantastic view of Mt Hood from almost any location in White Salmon. White Salmon Washington is a special place in that it has that small-town mountain community feel with restaurants and a brewery rivaling the best of Portland. Add in art studios, pottery studio, glass blowing studio, wine tasting and a couple of boutiques all within walking distance to most of the neighborhoods and Airbnb’s surrounding the one street downtown. -White Salmon Washington

The Columbia River Gorge, on the border between Washington and Oregon, offers dramatic scenery. For good reason: The gorge was formed at the end of the last Ice Age about 14,000 years ago when glaciers chiseled through the landscape. Bingen, WA and White Salmon, WA are two small towns along the Gorge that serve as ideal jumping-off points to explore this stunning area. -To And Fro Fam

First things first: Trout Lake is actually not a lake; rather, the tiny town is the gateway to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest which has fantastic hiking trails, ice caves, soaring peaks and waterfalls. Head out on a scenic drive to enjoy the lush green valley, tackle rapids on a whitewater rafting trip, or simply unwind at a glamping resort or even a Buddhist temple. -The Gorge Guide

Positioned at the core of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Stevenson is a prime jumping-off point for exploring the southern Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Mount St. Helens and other outdoor treasures. Learn about the gorge at the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center, where interactive exhibits and collections of artifacts highlight the area’s natural history, first inhabitants and industrial growth. Impressive outdoor displays include a diesel train, logging equipment and cedar log carvings. Stevenson’s Landing, a cruise ship pier on the Columbia River, is a great place to catch pretty sights of the water framed by forested mountains. The river, which serves as a natural border between Washington and Oregon, attracts many watersports enthusiasts, including whitewater rafters, kayakers, windsurfers and fishermen. Six parks are within walking distance of the pier and can all be accessed via walking path. Bob’s Beach is a kite flying and windsurfing haven, while quiet Pebble Beach is an ideal place to launch a kayak. Stevenson restaurants deliver comforting fare in welcoming environments; try a brew and giant pretzel at Walking Man Brewery and Public House. -Washington the State

I worked at Moon River Home & Living with my friend, Angela- the owner, as well as owning a coffee shop/antique store in the larger store. It is an absolutely beautiful store of new, used and vintage finds!
