This is my local pizza joint. It's very solid. They also sell by the slice. My favorite is the "Garbage" pizza. They have pub seating inside and a small outdoor seating area in front.

To catch the bus walk 1 block east on Oakdale Ave. to Sheridan Ave. The bus stop is right there. Take the 151 bus. You'll be there in 5 minutes. The Zoo is free. Be sure to check out the Nature Boardwalk just south of the zoo. A family of beavers live there.

This bird sanctuary is about three miles north of the house on the Chicago Lakefront. I consider it one of the most beautiful places in the city. I go there often in the spring and fall to watch migrating birds. Be sure to visit the pristine sand dunes just east of the sanctuary.
