During summer, you can hike up the mountain (medium difficulty). During winter, you can go skiing. If you don't ski, I would still recommend taking the gondola up to the top!

Not truly an island, the arts hub is linked to residential areas by one road and footbridges to the south, and to the Downtown peninsula (across False Creek) by ferry.
