Only about 2.5 miles from Pelican View! Whether you are a race fan or a history fan, you will enjoy lunch or dinner at the birthplace of NASCAR! The food is great and the view from the beachfront patio is awesome. Plus they have live music on weekends!

Another local favorite. It's about 1.5 miles away from Pelican View, just on the other side of the bridge/causeway on Dunlawton. The food is good, with the homemade cornbread and "hot out of the oven" cinnamon rolls being guest favorites. They also have a nice Sunday brunch. From our experience, the place is always crowded , so give yourself plenty of time and be patient. They do not take reservations, but you can call ahead to put your name on the waiting list before you arrive. It will save you some waiting time when you arrive.

This is another good option near Pelican View. It's located under the bridge heading over to Port Orange. The restaurant is on the Halifax River, with great views of the seabirds on the protected sanctuary and the pleasure boaters traveling on the Inter-coastal Waterway (ICW). Depending on staffing, there can be significant wait times. It's a nice place to go for a cocktail for sunset, when not enjoying the view from the Pelican View balcony.

Another local site that is a "must see", no matter how long you are staying at Pelican View. It's one of the historic lighthouses in the U.S., with several other historic buildings on the property. Give yourself 2-3 hours to enjoy this landmark.

The Mecca for any race fan! Check out their website for their calendar of events, including the opportunity to drive a professional race car on the Daytona track yourself! It's an amazing experience, even if you are not a racing fan! The speedway is only a 10-15 minute drive from our condo.

A great way to spend a couple of hours learning about the marine life in our area. Combine this with your trip to the Lighthouse since they are near one another.

Only a few steps from Pelican View! You have to walk through Crabby Joe's restaurant to get to the bait shop and fishing pier. You can rent fishing gear and get your required fishing license on site. Or, if you don't want to fish yourself, you can just go watch others who are there trying to catch the "big one"!

This place is awesome and worth the hour drive! It's a perfect spot to go when you need a break from the ocean and beach but still want to enjoy nature or take a dip. There are plenty of shaded areas to enjoy a picnic lunch. The fresh-water spring is 72 degrees year round and is set up like a swimming pool. You can also rent canoes or take a scenic boat road. Don't miss this place if you have never been there before. During peak seasons, you need to get there before the park opens because they limit the number of cars/people that can enter the park.
