Another little mining town full of food and local businesses. If you've got a sweet teeth (like myself) I highly recommend checking out Lazy Dog Chocolatiera for a massive icecream drumstick! If you want something a bit more substantial Diego’s has the most delicious selection of Chilean inspired dishes. The Thirsty Barrel has a cute outdoor seating area, fantastic burgers and an exceptional beer selection from many local of the local breweries. Tofanellie’s also has a beautiful outdoor seating area and a bit more of a traditional American cuisine selection.

Grass Valley

Sightseeing
The beauty of the Yuba River is what brought me to this area. Massive white boulders and tons of beautiful swimming holes make this a great adventure if you are up for a bit of a hike/climb.
Be aware swimming is genererally only safe July through until the rainy season. Fast currents and cold temperatures from the snow melt make the river beautiful for admiring but dangerous for swimming.
Hoyt’s beach is one if the few legal nudists beaches in the country. If that's not your thing there are plenty of other clothin required options, just be sure to stay up stream :)

If you want to enjoy the river but with less of a hike Oregon creek is just a short level walk from the paved parking lot. Often filled with family picnics and BBQs.

Yet another place to enjoy the beautiful Yuba River. The Bridgeport bridge is the oldest bridge in California. Recently rehabbed it features a gift shop/information area including a price list of what is costed to cross the bridge during the initial settlement of California.
There are also lots of easy access spots to sit on a sandy beach and take a dip in the Yubas crystal clear water.
