Take a beautiful drive on Highway 1 going south of SF -stunning views of the Pacific. Montara beach is great for hiking (not so much for swimming). Keep driving south and close by is Moss Beach with tide pools where you can see starfish, crabs and other sea life. A little further south is the town of Half Moon Bay. Nice shops and restaurants.

Right outside of Ghiradelli is Aquatic Park, with antique ships, outdoors swimmers, a small beach and views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Right down the street is Fisherman's Wharf.

Strolling the length of the Embarcadero is a lovely way to spend a few hours. The Embarcadero spans along the Bay water from Pier 39 all the way to the SF Giants Stadium. There many sculptures to admire and shops/restaurants along the way.

Aside from being a beautiful neighborhood, the Castro is the LGBTQ capitol of the world. It's fun to stroll and see the restaurants and clubs and the liveliness and warmth of the people on the streets. Great in the evenings or weekends.
