Voula is the most amazing waitress / owner I've ever seen in my life. She remembers EVERYONE's name after meeting them once. Basic traditional breakfast with generous portions can be found here. Go early on the weekends to avoid the line.

This place is a GEM. Theo (the owner) has kept the used bookstore alive in this day and age because he's wonderful. Very community oriented with coffee, pastries, beer and wine, community gatherings, live music, open mics and plenty of open door warmth.

Top notch, world class ( pretty much I think) and they always have work by great artists. There are always special exhibits that we make the trip to see. They also have music on occasion. By bus, from my place it is about 10-15 minutes. If you go, my advice is to take the bus.

Parks & Nature
Greenlake has everything. It has a 2.9 mile running / biking / skating path, boat rentals, 2 beaches, kiddie pool, and more. This is a wonderful place to hang out. Lots of restaurants nearby also.

Just a short drive from here is the marina and Golden Gardens Park, which is a big sandy beach right on the sound, perfect for sunsets, sail boats and beach fires. A bit chilly for swimming in my opinion, but people do it. And not to mention, I'm a bit of a whiner about cold and heat.

Shilshole Bay Marina
7001 Seaview Ave NWJust a short drive from here is the marina and Golden Gardens Park, which is a big sandy beach right on the sound, perfect for sunsets, sail boats and beach fires. A bit chilly for swimming in my opinion, but people do it. And not to mention, I'm a bit of a whiner about cold and heat.

It's a LIBRARY! It is actually on my street, about 7 houses away. I've counted my steps walking there, but I do not remember how many, so I cannot give that information. They have lots of special things for little ones, which I know about because the parents always park by my house.

They have lots of special things for little ones, which I know about because the parents always park by my house.
Getting Around
Just around the corner from my house, is the #5 bus that goes straight downtown, usually in around 10-15 minutes. On the way home, it drops you off at the library which is right at the top of my street. Couldn't be easier.

Lime Bikes are sitting around all over the place. Just download the app and ride for $1 per hour. Some of them are even motorized. The good thing is you can just leave them on the sidewalk when you are done, wherever you are. I have bike helmets here for guests.

This place has groceries, good produce, deli items, clothes, furniture, a pharmacy, drug store items. Pretty much anything you need you can find here. It's just a walk from my home. My love affair with Fred Meyer is my little secret that reveals how much I'm actually not as cool as one may think. LOL. Oh, and they have a Starbucks inside, which is definitely NOT cool for locals, but I like it so I'm a double nerd.
