It is actaully called The Werner Building. on 9th just south of 53rd, is one of my favorite piece of new york architecture. It’s got a flock of Green Men above the second floor. According to legend, the Green Men on this building, each of whom has a different facial expression, were playfully placed there to salute 9th Avenue el riders as they went past (the el came down in 1940).

Built in 1904, the "thoroughly classical colossus of a building" fills the entire block between 58th to 59th Street, and from 11th to 12th Avenues in Riverside South, Manhattan. Since the building became unnecessary to the subway system in the 1950s, Consolidated Edison has used the space to supply the New York City steam system.
The building juxtaposes with newly developed contemporary buildings on the west side, which forms an interesting skyline view.

Get yourself cultured at the Lincoln Center. I usually won't recommend such a mainstream place, but the Lincoln Center actually has a lot of different programs going on besides your classic opera and ballet shows.
