Nearest pub, end of lane beside cottage. Home cooked food and real ale (if its on try Trawlerboys, brewed in Lowestoft by Green Jacks). Dogs welcome inside pub. Log fire in winter, outside seating on cliff top in summer. Beer festival every September on cliff top.

This is the pub of GreenJacks brewery. The best local beer. Try Trawler Boys. It's rough and ready, a drinkers pub but the beer is excellent and it's near the scores and nest point, you can have a good walk and a good beer

Church desecrated by Oliver Cromwell. Park near here and walk to beach (about a mile). Broad on beach. Good walks here. Watch the tide if you walk to Benacre from here. Can get cut off.

The scores are the narrow lanes created over the years by people wearing paths into the soft, sloping cliff as they travelled between the beach village and the High Street.. There is a scores walk ( follow metal fish signs in pavement). Historic area of Lowestoft. Worth walking along sea front to East Point - most easterly point in country. Bit spoilt by the Birds Eye factory and smell of fried fish fingers but still worth doing. The grass area with what looks like wooden goal posts was were the fishing nets were dried and mended. There is a Scores Race every September if you are fit enough!
