Built in 1786 as a seaside resort for George, Prince of Wales, it was bought by Brighton in 1850 for £53,000 and was used as a military hospital during the First World War, remaining one until the summer of 1920, when it was reopened to the public.

Go for the photo opportunities and stay for the thrilling roller-coasters, gorgeous views, sparkling games arcade and the older seaside attractions like the helter skelter and cut-out boards (so that you can send all your friends a photo of the day you were married by Elvis on Brighton Pier!)
