Herschell Carousel Museum is only 5 mins away and is a wonderful place to visit. Definitely worth an hour or two and they even include a couple vintage carousel rides with admission ($5 for kids, $10 for adults).

Niawanda Park is just across the street from the home. Feel free to bring the picnic basket (has a blanket, dishes and cups inside) for a lovely lunch. Please don't forget to bring the dishes back in the provided paper bag and wash them or leave them out for the cleaner.

101 Oliver StGateway Harbor is a small riverside park with a couple of historic houses about a 15-20 mins scenic walk away from the home along the river or grab ice cream at Old Man River or Mississippi Mudds on your way there. You can watch small boats go by or just laze around the grounds for a relaxing time. Kayak and canoe rentals are available through Water Bike Adventures.
