This little tiny town Weston also has a few other walkable stores. There's even a short little trail up behind the country store if you want to get some quick exercise. The store is super dog friendly as well- so it's a great place to see on your way in or out of town with a pup.

Swimming Spots & Waterfalls
Expect to be surprised at the beauty of this hidden gem! This pond is filled with the water that is pumped through the guns to make the Stratton snow we know & love. When you arrive, there are no marked parking spaces, so you can either park along the road to the right or get closer to the water up ahead of you. It can seem crowded at first on the sunnier, warm days, however, there is plenty of room around the pond for everyone. The pond is a popular spot for dog owners, so expect to meet new furry friends. The path around the pond is hard dirt,making it a perfect bike-riding loop for kids. The pond is a great spot to float, SUP, kayak and fish, as well! A majority of the pond is surrounded by rocks that you can sit on and jump into the water off of. If you walk toward the back side of the pond, there is a small beach area where you can wade in the water. Once you get there, look right and you’ll see the Stratton ski slopes! We have beach towels and floats you are welcome to use for your time at the pond.

Lowell Lake is a great spot for all the outdoor activities - swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, & they have a great 3.5 mile loop around the lake with a really neat abandoned campground. 15 minute drive, parking is limited in the summer months.

A very popular Southern Vermont swimming spot is the Dorset Quarry, about 30 minutes from the house. This is an old MArble quarry with 60 foot depth. There are rope swings as well. There is a fee for parking and it's 30 minute drive.

Hamilton Falls cascades 125 feet down a mountain slope, through a pine-hemlock woodland and into a series of large potholes. This is truly a gorgeous place to explore! You can park near the top of the falls (30 min drive from the house) and do a ten minute hike down to the falls or you can park at Ball Mountain Lake area and hike 6 miles (moderate hike) to get there.
