No description really needed! You can actually see some of the festival site when it's on by climbing the hill from the Udder Shed. Not quite the ticket, but you'll certainly get the vibes.

Now... what could Cheddar be famous for....?
That's it - being England's longest gorge.
The caves are currently closed but well worth a drive through the Gorge to admire this geological marvel.

Henry Hoare's (as of Stourhead fame) magnificent folly, which can be seen from Maesdown Hill.
Although the tower isn't currently open, there are some fantastic walks in the surrounding woods.
Just a cautionary note: there have periodically been thieves breaking into cars parked in the car park, so PLEASE don't leave any valuables in view, or even hidden in the boot.

Acclaimed to be the "Notting Hill of the West" by rags such as the Telegraph, this town is hugely popular. Personally, I can't see the attraction, but that was probably due to having been at school there.

Now here's a recommendation that doesn't come up in many guidebooks!
We've all watched the loveable Fletch, and probably wondered what it would actually be like to be shut in a prison cell, albeit for a couple of minutes. Now is your opportunity. Shepton Mallet prison aka Cornhill, closed in 2013 but is steeped in history dating back to 1610. It has accommodated, amongst so many others, American soldiers, the Doomsday Book and the Kray twins. The tour guides are second-to-none, and are more than willing to show you the chilling Execution Room.
Bizarrely intriguing. Don't miss out - there is plans to convert the prison to housing once the bodies of executed prisoners can be exhumed. Nice.

I could go on and on about the exhibits, but let's just say (and I'm not biased) that it's heaven for spotters and kids alike. You can see the first Concorde built this side of the Channel. What more is there to like? (Oh, and you get to see real in-service helos over the fence at RNAS Yeovilton)

Infamous for the home of Babycham (you're showing your age if you understand). Also HMP Cornhill (you can do a tour of the now disused prison - slightly scary!) Still has a cider mill.
The high street itself is slightly sad these days, partly due to the arrival of Tesco, Aldi etc.

Otherwise, wander the high street in your tie-died tops inhaling incense in the glint of the crystals, usually accompanied by some busker playing the didgeridoo. To blend in with the locals, just act like it's perfectly normal for some guy to be hoovering the high street.
