Le Fruit a Pains is a traditional French Bakery at 10 minutes from the appartement. They open at 5:30 in the morning so there is no excuse not to go there to get your fresh baguettes as only the french bakers can make them

Sightseeing
Pinel Island is one of the best places to spend a day. It is a postage stamp size island right on the coast on the French side. A ferryboat will bring you there in 5 minutes. It has two great restaurants and a souvenir shop, great swimming. You feel like you are away from the world.

The villages streches along a beautiful beach, lined with restaurants, varying from expensive, top of the line French restaurants, to local sparerib grill places, called the Lolo's of Grand Case, a must stop for a hearty local lunch. The nights are destined for sumptuous french dinners. At the end of the village there is Rainbow Cafe, one of the best [places to spend a day at the beach, they serve you right on the beach, excellent food great ambiance

On Saturday mornings early you will find the weekly fish market, which is a sight to see, even if you don't want to shop for fish. In Marigot you will also find Fort Saint Lois, the ruins of an ols fort with an amazing view over Marigot and the bay., the picture here is actually shot from the fort.

Public transport is messy , taxi's are expensive .
Do also not take gipsy drivers, they have no insurance neither proper driving skills. The best way to get around is get a rental care , there are lots of deals to be found. Sint Maarten is generaly a safe place but do not leave valuables inside your car.

Tapwater is very safe but might have some sediment from time to time, the appartement has the appropriate filters in place. The tapwater is derived from seawater by means of osmosis
