The Tierra Farm factory store is worth a little pop-in at the beginning of your trip for tons of organic nuts, chips—everything wholesome and healthy to munch on. They've got complimentary coffee at the shop too. It's located about two minutes up the road past the Chatham Berry Farm.

The summer home of the Boston Symphony, Tanglewood also hosts a contemporary music festival, an annual performance of John Williams's film scores, and James Taylor's 4th of July performance. Even when there's no music, it's a beautiful place to walk around.

Even when there's no music, it's a beautiful place to walk around.
Come for the cheese, stay for the cows—yep, they’ll let you say hello! There’s also a medicinal garden to meander through in the warmer months.

There are four ski areas with 30 minutes: Jiminy Peak Resort is the largest, there's also Catamount and Butternut. Bousquet holds a special place in my heart. I grew up snowboarding on this small mountain and it's got a local flare that's so welcoming. It's extremely well-maintained and the private lessons are well-priced and excellent. They've got a tubing hill if you want to enjoy winter fun but don't want to lock into a pair of skis or a board. The lodge was just completely redone.

You must book in advance and take a rapid test on arrival—they'll share details when you book online or over the phone. There's a lot on offer so you can usually get in for a treatment with not too much advance scheduling.

Great Barrington is just over 30 minutes away in the Berkshires and has one of the sweetest little main streets in the region plus a handful of excellent restaurants, pubs, a historic theater, upscale dispensaries (no smoking in the house!), and lots of cute shops to meander through.
