My favourite ocean pool
Bronte Beach is one of the more family-friendly of Sydney’s Eastern Beaches, offering an ocean pool for lap swimming, surfing, rock pools, and a park with sea views. A strip of cafes serves up everything from fish and chips and burgers to poke bowls; standouts include Bogey Hole Cafe and Cafe Salina. If you are beach swimming, currents at Bronte can be tricky, so always swim between the red-and-yellow flags. The best way to walk here from the flat is walk to the cafe on the corner, turn right into Murray street and cross at the traffic crossing, keep going until you see a little track that goes through to the big park which has amazing views and leads to the beach. If the surf is too strong you can swim at the bogey hole on the very right of the beach which is protected, or the pool above that.

An iconic 50 meter lap pool, also gym, sauna and massage available here. There's a brilliant cafe inside called the Crabbe hole, which has amazing strong coffee and food with a spectacular view. To walk from the flat I like to go to the stairs at the end of Fletcher St and head toward Bondi on the coast path. There's a totally worth it entry fee for swimming, saunas and gym facilities.

Broth Bar and Larder is a small and inviting space to enjoy homemade, nourishing foods, including bone broths, broth-based soups, a slow-cooked meal of the day. Also a fridge and freezer section with broth icy poles and other goodies, so healthy and very delicious!

This place is perfect for a family dinner of wood fired pizza, salad and fries with a top tiramisu, also a great wine list for mum and dad! There's also a cosy bar upstairs with a great vibe

At the rear of the Royal, an old pub on Bondi rd, Totti's has two spaces, one of which is a big courtyard with two big old olive trees. There’s loads of other greenery besides, and an open kitchen. Inside there’s a woodfired bread oven and lots of natural light streaming through sunroofs that run the length of the room. Expect old-school trattoria vibes, Italian-inflected food and good times galore

Iggy's has the most amazing sourdough, my fave purchase is the round of rolls. If you can't get to the bakery Favoloso on the corner gets a delivery from iggys most days.
