Nestled right on the York River, this restaurant is perfect for your seafood cravings. The staff was great and accommodating.
They have covered outside seating w/ fans that is perfect for enjoying the weather w/o sweating during the hotter months.
Enjoy their dessert choices here or simply walk across Water street to Ben & Jerry's for your favorite ice cream.
There is also free parking directly across from the restaurant.
Don't forget your swim suit, you may want to get in the water and relax after eating!!

Water Street Grille
323 Water StNestled right on the York River, this restaurant is perfect for your seafood cravings. The staff was great and accommodating.
They have covered outside seating w/ fans that is perfect for enjoying the weather w/o sweating during the hotter months.
Enjoy their dessert choices here or simply walk across Water street to Ben & Jerry's for your favorite ice cream.
There is also free parking directly across from the restaurant.
Don't forget your swim suit, you may want to get in the water and relax after eating!!

Dating back to the early settlement of the Europeans, Newport News has a rich history, beginning shortly after the founding of Jamestown. Located on the banks of the Hampton Roads harbor, Newport News is near Hampton, minutes from Williamsburg and a short drive to Virginia Beach.
Here you will experience all four seasons. Grab your hiking shoes, canoe, swim suit, raincoat or snow boots (don't expect too much snow). If weather is a concern for your travels, just pick a season that you like and I'm confident you will enjoy your stay, as there is much to do.
The city of Newport News is committed to green tourism and limiting the environmental impact. Help keep Newport News beautiful!
Depending on your length of stay, you can enjoy the sand between your toes on Virginia Beach, travel a short distance to Busch Gardens/Water Country, enjoy the various hiking trails or make a day trip to our nation's capitol. I highly recommend visiting D.C. if you have time to spare; there is a lot of history to explore.

You will want to rent a vehicle or have your own car
There are a lot of places to explore and having your own vehicle is a must to see everything. If traveling to Virginia Beach, you will most likely go through a tunnel that is underwater. Considering my first time going through the tunnel was worrisome, it becomes as normal as driving on any other road.

When I travel I like to visit restaurants, museums, local spots, etc. that I cannot experience in other places. I would recommend picking a few places and reserving yourself a spot. The best way to experience a new place is " When in Rome, do as Romans do."
