A great grocery store - everyone should go there if for no other reason than to view the produce. Where else can you find 86 varieties of apples? Out of town friends refer to the Bowl as "The Produce Museum", and people who move away say it is the number one place they miss in Berkeley. Definitely worth seeing.

Walking distance, a fabulous mostly-french restaurant, 43 years old and delightful. A place you can sit and talk, and they don't rush you out. Perfect for a nice dinner or romantic night out..

Top notch Japanese Restaurant. Dinner can be challenging in terms of getting a table (you may have to wait) but lunch generally is easier. Worth the effort.
