Max Patch RoadGreat long range views. Not a steep hike, but getting to it is challenging.
If you want to see some local beauty....
From the cabin, go to River Rd and take a right. You will go a couple of miles and the road will turn into gravel...keep going! Drive till the road turns a drastic right onto a bridge. You can get out there to see paint creek. But my favorite spot, go over the bridge and bear right, go another couple of miles to a little picnic area on the left. There are tables and bathrooms there, plus a really beautiful place on Paint Creek to hang out.
