Timed entry tickets are needed for going into the building itself but the grounds, history panel and bookshop are explored free of charge. There are always tours going on. Stop by the Menger Hotel to find its historic bar, Rough Rider displays and find restrooms (as long as you stop by the bar).

This is the best free street parking to explore the downtown River Walk, Hemisphere Park, and the historic neighborhood it’s named after. Lots of good restaurants and bars nearby.
