The park is huge, at 27 hectares, with Trout Lake being the main draw. The park offers soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts, concession stands, public washrooms, picnic areas, dog parks, trails and a dedicated swimming area in Trout Lake, along with lots of trees, lush grassy areas and to top it off, mountain views.
There is generally a lot going on there from baseball to live music.

Food scene
It is sooo good. They hand make the pasta right in front of you. To note, it is on the pricey side and it does get busy, call ahead or get there early is the best way to get in.
Its also owned by a good friend of mine from high school who is an award winning chef.

(1 Skytrain stop) Is one of the best and most colorful shopping, dining and nightlife districts you will find in the city; offers 22 full blocks to explore with over 300 distinct merchants, including quaint boutiques, an eclectic collection of restaurants, a vibrant live music and bar scene, dinner and dancing, theatres, coffee houses, specialty food stores and bakeries.
To get here, just walk to the Skytrain station one block south of our place, take the "Expo Line - Waterfront Station" train to the next stop (only 3 minutes!). From there you will want to walk north (towards the mountains) to find a ton of bars, restaurants, high end food and grocers. Its one of the best places for food in Vancouver.
During the summer or soccer games there are usually events in the street as well.

Nanaimo Skytrain (3 minute walk)
The Skytrain, our “subway”, can take you Downtown in 10 minutes, 10 minutes to Metrotown (biggest mall in BC), 20 minutes to Surrey and is 1 station away from Commercial Drive for some great restaurants and live eccentric vibes. Also a convenient way to get to other neighbourhoods like Richmond, North Vancouver, the Airport, Burnaby, etc.
